3 Peas in a Pod: Day 2

Elena, Janice, and I spent our second day together at Huntington beach. The weather and waves were so perfect that day. We had breakfast at Bruxie, bought matching body boards, and rented a surrey. It was definitely one of my favorite beach days.

3 Peas in a Pod: Day 1

My penpal, Janice finally paid a visit to California this past week! She brought along Elena, and I was more than excited to have them stay at my home and be their "tour guide" around Cali. I still can't believe how much we got to do within the 7 days that they were here. Its so amazing how close we all got, considering the fact that this was our first time meeting in person. We've built up our friendship to the point where have a title for it, "3 peas in a pod". I miss them a lot already but I'm planning my trip to visit them this winter in NY!

On their official first day here, I decided to show them around my neighborhood. We spent the day thrifting then had a picnic at Lake Skinner.

Update

Summer has been really good to me so far. I still haven't had any luck in the nursing job hunt, so I'm dedicating my time to keeping Candid L.A. successful and just enjoying my summer as much as I can. I realized that this is the only time in my life that I am absolutely FREE... no school, no job, no worries. I might as well take that for granted. Within the past few months, I've visited many places and did lots of activities for the first time, and I don't plan on stopping. I have a list of adventures to cross off my list, so stay tuned.

Summer Sunset

Charles & I planned on going to the fair on Saturday, but instead we spent a relaxing day at the beach. Pacific Beach has to be one of my favorite beaches. Not only is the beach absolutely beautiful, but it has almost all of my favorite stores within walking distance from each other. In addition to Brandy Melville, UO, Buffalo Exchange, and AA, the streets are filled with cute little thrift shops and food spots. The sunset was so amazing, I fell in love with this place all over again.

K & J Part 1

Kirsten and I decided to make our bff-dates a weekly thing, and I'm glad we made that decision because it allows me one day a week to just express my random thoughts and rants. She's one of the few people who understand me and I can always count on her to truly listen. I'm super excited for her own blog coming soon!

Ocean Blue

Spent Sunday in San Pedro for Subaru Summer Solstice (well that was quite an alliteration). Charles dragged me to yet another car show, but I actually enjoyed it this time. I'll leave to him to post the photos of the cars, but here are some photos we took at the port.

Fam Time

Spent the weekend in Carson to celebrate my best friend/godsister's graduation from CSULB. We spent the evening getting all dolled up for no reason lol... we really just wanted to test out our hair & make-up skills on my little cousins. Ended the night grubbin' on In n' Out and enjoyed a beautiful view of the city lights.

Beach Day.

Had a much needed beach day with some friends and fam last week. The weather was perfect and we definitely had too much fun... as you can tell by our failed attempts at these action shots lol. We took a dip in the water with our body boards, enjoyed ice cream at the board walk, and roasted smores over a bonfire. 'Twas a perf beach day.

San Francisco 2013

I have been dying to pay a visit to SF, so we decided that we could use a little vacation after FAME, considering we were already in the area! We all had the time of our lives there... I felt so free and literally had no worries while exploring this beautiful city. Thanks to my cousin Arielle who lives in the area, we are able to check out all the amazing must-see spots throughout SF. While editing these photos, I had the worst case of nostalgia because I couldn't believe that the trip we all spent looking forward to had finally come to an end. But on a lighter note,  I have to say that this trip is definitely the highlight of my year so far. I'll stop babbling on now and let the photos do the talking. Can't you tell what an amazing time we had together?
